League City is located twenty-five miles north of Galveston Island and twenty miles south of Houston. This area is part of what is known as Clear Lake. Since the 1980s there has been a growth rate of about 6%, and has brought the population to an estimated 50,000. Both old residents and new residents are proud of the area’s quality of life, economic opportunities, low crime rate, schools, and wide variety of recreational services.

It is clear to see that the area is alive with opportunity, optimism and liveliness. It’s a diverse community with a unique blend of high-tech aerospace and petrochemical companies. Major parts of the area's economic base consist of aerospace (NASA), petrochemicals, health care, boating and tourist attractions. League City has also become home to the third largest concentration of pleasure boats in the United States.
